On December 14, 2024, Worcester’s own Four Year Strong brought their holiday show to a roaring crowd at The Palladium. The hometown heroes delivered a high-octane performance that had fans moshing, crowd-surfing, and screaming every word to their anthems. While Four Year Strong took the spotlight, the night was a full celebration of punk and emo music, thanks to an incredible lineup of supporting acts.
Kicking off the evening was Ben Quad, an up-and-coming band from Oklahoma. Their intricate math-rock riffs and energetic stage presence were a perfect introduction to the night, as they effortlessly won over the crowd with their dynamic sound and sharp musicianship.

The room filled quickly as fans were drawn to their complex melodies and emotionally charged lyrics.

Prince Daddy & The Hyena followed, turning up the chaos with their blend of heartfelt punk and raw intensity. The Albany-based band delivered a passionate set that had the crowd bouncing and belting out lyrics to tracks like “I Forgot To Take My Meds Today.” Their stage presence was magnetic, and the energy was contagious, setting the tone for the rest of the evening.
Next came Free Throw, who elevated the atmosphere even further with their emotionally driven emo-punk. Songs like “Two Beers In” hit

a sweet spot between vulnerability and ferocity, resonating deeply with fans. Adding an extra layer of excitement, Tades, lead singer of Hot Mulligan, made a surprise appearance during their set.

He joined Free Throw for a verse, sending the crowd into a frenzy and making the night even more memorable. Microwave took the stage next, bringing a mix of raw emotion and powerful instrumentation to their set. The Atlanta-based band blended grunge influences with punk sensibilities, delivering a sound that felt uniquely their own. Tracks like “Vomit” and “Keeping Up” resonated with the crowd, who swayed and screamed along to the introspective lyrics.

Microwave’s dynamic performance showcased their ability to seamlessly shift from subdued moments to explosive choruses, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.
By the time Four Year Strong took the stage, The Palladium was primed and ready for chaos. The Worcester natives have a special connection with their hometown crowd, and it showed in every moment of their explosive set. Tracks like “Heroes Get Remembered, Legends Never Die” and “It Must Really Suck to Be Four Year Strong Right Now” turned the floor into a sea of movement.

Their heavier, breakdown-laden tracks had the entire venue shaking, while singalongs to acoustic cuts like “One Step at a Time” offered a rare and heartfelt breather.
The energy in the room was unmatched as Four Year Strong fed off the crowd’s enthusiasm. Their gratitude for their fans and the city of Worcester was evident in every interaction. The band spoke fondly of their roots and how much it meant to them to be playing in the city they call home.

The combination of hometown pride, a killer lineup of supporting acts, and an electrified crowd made this night at The Palladium one to remember. Four Year Strong proved once again why they are legends in the scene, and Worcester showed why it will always be their ultimate stage.
